The King of pop art has an exhibit at the Tel Aviv Museum of Modern Art! He was a Painter, writer, editor, music producer and author. He has been exhibited worldwide for his works that have marked the twentieth century. But did you know that Andy Warhol was a collector of mechanical toys. When art dealer, Bruno Bischofberger, asked Warhol to create a series of paintings for children in 1983, Warhol was inspired by his personal collection. Toy Paintings was exhibited for the first time in Zurich on a fish wallpaper wall created by Warhol for the occasion. Warhol thought about the children all the way to the level the paintings where hung. He wanted his creations visually accessible to children.
Open to the public since November 30th, the exhibit Andy Warhol: Toy paintings combine paintings and prints. Suitable for 7 year old children and up, it will open the doors to a Pop Art world. Visitors can paint , dress like Warhol, listen to his story , become familiar with and draw characteristics of his works – bright colors, lines and replicated images. Enjoy silkscreen workshop to unveil your creative talents! To attend the workshop, you must register in advance and pay a fee. There is no entrance fee to the museum for children up to 18 years old. The Andy Warhol exhibit: Toy Paintings is expected to close by the end of the year. But don’t hesitate to confirm by phoning before!
